BRANDON FINALLY GOT A BUCK
« on: October 16, 2012, 02:02:23 PM »
Brandon has taken 2 whitetail does over the last couple of years but he finally scored his 1st buck.  Nice Mulie with some character in the antlers.  One side was damaged while in velvet but continued to grow out 2 points.  One of those points ended up breaking off and a tip off the other side was broken too.

We spooked up a herd of about 15-20 deer in a canyon and they stood there looking at us.  This one was the only shooter in the bunch.  They were standing about 75 yards uphill from us when Brandon shot him just behind the left rib cage. The bullet traveled through both lungs and hit his front right shoulder.  He crumbled and rolled down about 30 feet.  Never even blinked.  Brandon shot him with his own (purchased with his own money) Remington 700 in .270 mounting a Vortex 4x12x40 (also picked out and purchased with his own money).  Dad is EXTREMELY proud of his 12 year old!  Congrats Bubby!
